A Fluimac Phoenix AODD Pump model code looks like a random string of letters and numbers at first glance. It isn’t. Every character specifies something — pump series, size, casing...
Italian-made air-operated double diaphragm pumps from ¼" to 3", in polypropylene, PVDF, AISI 316 stainless steel and aluminium, with ATEX and food-grade versions for corrosive, viscous and solids-laden fluids.
The Fluimac Phoenix is an air-operated double diaphragm pump range in 13 sizes, from the P4 (¼", 4 l/min) to the P1000 (3", 1,050 l/min). Each pump is built to a configuration code, with casing, diaphragm, balls, seats, gaskets and connections selected for the fluid, so one pump family covers acids, caustics, solvents, oils, viscous products and slurries.
Runs dry and deadheads safely: seal-less design tolerates dry running and a closed discharge without damage to the pump
Self-priming: dry suction lift up to 5 m (3 m on P4 and P8) and 9.8 m wet, with delivery head up to 80 m
Six casing materials: glass-fibre reinforced PP, conductive PP, PVDF+CF, POMc, aluminium and electropolished AISI 316, depending on size
Viscous and solids-laden fluids: up to 55,000 cps and 12 mm solids on the P1000, or 30 mm with the Flap Phoenix valve
No electrical installation: ATEX Zone 2 marking as standard, with Zone 1 and IECEx versions available for hazardous areas
The Fluimac Phoenix is an air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pump range designed and assembled in Italy, covering flows from 4 l/min to 1,050 l/min. Two diaphragms driven by compressed air move the fluid through alternating chambers, so the pump has no rotating seals, no electrical connection and no damage risk when it runs dry or works against a closed discharge.
Phoenix is built for the conditions where AODD pumps usually give trouble: a shared compressed air supply that dips during peak demand, operators working next to the pump all shift, and maintenance teams with little time to spend on the air end. Every pump is wet-tested after final assembly for deadheading, priming and sealing before it leaves the factory.
Every Phoenix size, from the P4 to the P1000, is available with a carbon-fibre reinforced PVDF casing. PVDF+CF handles strong acids and oxidisers that attack polypropylene, and it runs from -20 °C to +95 °C against +65 °C for PP. The carbon fibre makes the casing conductive, so the pump can be earthed for flammable solvents and ATEX-classified areas without moving to a metal pump.
The Phoenix range covers 13 sizes. Figures below are maximum values from the Fluimac data sheets, measured with water at 20 °C, submerged suction and free discharge. Actual flow at your duty point depends on discharge head, air pressure, suction conditions and fluid viscosity, so select from the performance curve rather than the maximum flow.

Send our engineering team your fluid, flow, head and air supply pressure, and we will recommend the size and material configuration.
AODD pumps are known for exhaust noise and vibration, and most plants accept it as the cost of using air. Phoenix routes exhaust air through a dedicated chamber with a double silencer and widened diffusion passages, which brings the rated noise level down to 62 dB on the smallest sizes and 72 dB on a 1" P120. The feedback we hear most often from customers is that the pump runs so quietly and smoothly that they have to walk up to it, or put a hand on it, to confirm it is running.
Lower vibration also means less stress on pipework, fittings and mounting points, and a working environment where operators can stand next to a transfer station for a full shift.
On a shared compressed air network, pressure falls whenever other equipment draws heavily, and many AODD pumps respond by stalling or cycling intermittently. The Phoenix unbalanced pilot spool controls the main spool position precisely enough to keep the pump stroking under those conditions. Customers running Phoenix alongside other well-known AODD brands on the same air line have seen it hold continuous flow while the other pumps struggled.
The pneumatic exchanger kit sits outside the pump body. Replacing it means removing four screws and a cap, taking out a circlip and pushing the kit out. The kit itself is three stacked parts, so a technician who has never serviced a pump can change it in minutes, with no special tools and no need to disconnect the fluid side.
Each Phoenix is built to a configuration code: casing, diaphragm, balls, seats, gaskets and connections are selected separately for the fluid. That lets the same pump family handle acids, caustics, solvents, oils, slurries and viscous products up to 55,000 cps, with PVDF+CF available in every size for aggressive chemicals and higher temperatures.
Fluimac Phoenix AODD pumps are used for chemical transfer, process and wastewater duties across Malaysian industry.
Unloading and transferring acids, caustics, hypochlorite and solvents between IBCs, drums and bulk tanks, with PVDF+CF for the most aggressive chemicals.
Sludge transfer, coagulant and polymer feed, and sump emptying, where self-priming, dry running and solids handling matter more than steady flow.
Circulating and transferring plating solutions, pickling acids and rinse water, often at elevated temperature where PVDF outlasts polypropylene.
Low-shear transfer of viscous and pigment-loaded products, with conductive casings and ATEX versions for solvent-based formulations.
Phoenix Food pumps in electropolished AISI 316 with FDA-compliant materials and tri-clamp connections for sauces, syrups, beverages and CIP chemicals.
Solvent, fuel and oil transfer in classified zones, with ATEX Zone 2 marking as standard and Zone 1 and IECEx versions available.
