When engineers select a centrifugal pump for a chemical application, the most common mistake is treating specific gravity as a flow curve correction and stopping there. The flow-head curve of...
Seal-less thermoplastic centrifugal pumps for corrosive chemical transfer — magnetic coupling eliminates the mechanical shaft seal entirely, removing the single biggest source of leakage and maintenance in a chemical pump room, for sites across Malaysia.
The Fluimac Compass series separates the pumped liquid from the atmosphere with a sealed isolation shell — motion is transmitted through a high-power synchronous magnetic coupling instead of a shaft seal, so there is no dynamic seal to wear, leak, or replace. Casing and impeller are injection-moulded PP or PVDF for broad chemical compatibility, in five sizes spanning 3.5 to 35 m³/h and up to 25m head, for high-purity and highly corrosive liquids that are difficult to seal by conventional means.
No mechanical seal — rare-earth magnetic coupling eliminates the #1 pump failure point and the leakage/emissions risk that comes with it
PP and PVDF construction — injection-moulded casing and impeller resist highly corrosive liquids, with EPDM or VITON O-rings to match
RWP quick-change cartridge kit — bearing and shaft assembly swaps without special tools for fast, low-cost maintenance
Five sizes, 3.5–35 m³/h — CM04 through CM30 covering light-duty transfer up to full process-scale flow

Entry-size Compass for light-duty chemical transfer — the smallest mag-drive footprint in the range, still fully seal-less. Connections: 1″F / 1/2″M. Casing/impeller in PP or PVDF, EPDM or VITON O-rings.

Closed-impeller step-up from CM04 for slightly higher flow with the same corrosion-resistant PP/PVDF construction. Connections: 1″F / 3/4″M. Casing/impeller in PP or PVDF, EPDM or VITON O-rings.

Mid-range Compass sized for general process transfer duty, handling viscosity up to 200 cps. Connections: 1.5″F / 1″M. Casing/impeller in PP or PVDF, EPDM or VITON O-rings.

Higher-capacity Compass for larger recirculation or transfer loops, up to specific gravity 1.8. Connections: 2″F / 1.25″M. Casing/impeller in PP or PVDF, EPDM or VITON O-rings.

Largest Compass in the range — full process-scale flow and head while remaining completely seal-less. Connections: 2″F / 1.5″M. Casing/impeller in PP or PVDF, EPDM or VITON O-rings.

Magnetic drive centrifugal pumps are specified for hazardous chemical transfer because they seal completely — no shaft penetration, no dynamic seal, no potential leak path. But that sealed containment shell...
Every pump selection guide eventually arrives at the same question: mechanical seal or magnetic drive? The shorthand answer — “mag drive is safer for hazardous chemicals” — is right as...
Centrifugal pump impellers come in three basic configurations. Closed impellers have two shrouds — one on each side of the vanes — creating enclosed flow passages with small internal clearances...
AODD pumps handle an impressive range of duties — corrosive chemicals, shear-sensitive fluids, abrasive slurries, high-viscosity materials — and the temptation is to reach for one any time the application...
