Pyxis EM-510 Inline Chlorophyll-A Sensor (High Range)

Model:
EM-510
Brand:
Pyxis Lab

The Pyxis EM-510 is a high-range inline chlorophyll-a sensor that uses fluorescence detection to monitor algae concentration in real time without reagents. It covers a 0-500ppb range and communicates via 4-20mA analog, RS-485 Modbus, and Bluetooth.

High-range detection — measures chlorophyll-a up to 500ppb for heavier algae loads
Reagent-free monitoring — fluorescence detection tracks algae concentration in real time without consumables
High-range detection — measures chlorophyll-a up to 500ppb for heavier algae loads

Description

The Pyxis EM-510 is a high-range inline chlorophyll-a sensor that tracks algae concentration in real time using fluorescence detection, with no reagents required. It extends measurement up to 500ppb, making it suited to water bodies or process streams experiencing heavier algae loads than a standard-range sensor can capture.

Like other sensors in the Pyxis chlorophyll-a line, it reports through 4-20mA analog, RS-485 Modbus, and Bluetooth, giving operators flexibility between hardwired control integration and local wireless access.

It’s intended for sites where algae blooms or elevated chlorophyll-a levels are a recurring concern and continuous, reagent-free monitoring is needed to track conditions as they develop.

Why Use This

Handles Higher Algae Loads

Extended 0-500ppb range suits waters with heavier chlorophyll-a concentrations than standard-range sensors.

Reagent-Free Operation

Fluorescence detection provides real-time readings without consumable reagents.

Flexible Connectivity

4-20mA, RS-485 Modbus, and Bluetooth outputs support wired and wireless monitoring setups.

Applications

  • Algae bloom monitoring — tracks elevated chlorophyll-a levels in water bodies prone to heavy algae loads
  • Water quality management — continuous, reagent-free algae data to inform treatment response
  • Remote/wireless monitoring — Bluetooth output for local data access without hardwiring

FAQ

How is the EM-510 different from a standard chlorophyll-a sensor?

It covers a high range of 0-500ppb, suited to elevated algae loads beyond what a standard-range chlorophyll-a sensor can measure.

Does it require reagents?

No — it uses fluorescence detection for reagent-free, real-time operation.

What outputs are available?

4-20mA analog, RS-485 Modbus, and Bluetooth.

What kind of water is this suited for?

Water bodies or process streams prone to algae blooms or higher chlorophyll-a concentrations, where continuous real-time tracking is needed.
