Features

The Pyxis ST-587 Series inline fluorometer and turbidimeter measures PTSA concentration and turbidity in the same sample stream, using both LED UV and warm white light sources. PTSA is commonly used as a fluorescent tracer in cooling and process water treatment, and this variant extends the measurement range to 0–500ppb PTSA and 0–200NTU turbidity.

The sensor connects to any device accepting isolated or non-isolated 4-20mA input, or RS-485 Modbus. Extra photo-electric components measure sample colour and turbidity, giving automatic compensation to eliminate interference that would otherwise affect a standard fluorometer, along with in-situ sensor cleanliness diagnostics. The short fluidic channel design is easier to clean than fluorometers with a flat distal sensor surface or a long, narrow fluidic cell.

A narrow-wavelength-band gallium phosphide photodiode paired with temperature- and humidity-resistant optical filters keeps the sensor stable across a wide range of ambient conditions, without needing separate humidity or temperature regulation. Diagnosis, cleaning, and calibration are handled via the MA-CR Bluetooth/USB adapter and the uPyxis mobile or desktop app.

This UPVC-bodied version suits application pressures below 100psi (6.9 Bar); for higher-pressure systems, see the ST-587SS stainless steel variant.
