The Alvim A001S3 is a standard biofilm sensor that provides real-time detection and monitoring of bacterial fouling in industrial pipelines, cooling towers and process water. Its corrosion-resistant titanium and PVC construction makes it particularly well suited to seawater applications. The sensor communicates via 4-20 mA and RS485/MODBUS RTU for integration into existing monitoring systems.

Description

The Alvim A001S3 is Alvim’s standard biofilm sensor, providing real-time detection and monitoring of bacterial fouling in industrial pipelines, cooling towers and process water. Its titanium working electrode, zinc counter electrode and PVC threaded connector give it corrosion-resistant construction that is particularly well suited to seawater applications.

The sensor mounts via a 1″ BSPP threaded connection and measures sensitivity of 1-100% of surface covered by biofilm, detecting the first bacterial layer. It operates across a temperature range of -10 to +60°C, at pressures below 10 bar, and requires water conductivity greater than 10 µS/cm and oxygen levels above 1 ppm at maximum sensitivity. Power is supplied at 12/24V DC ±20%, 500 mA, with data output via 4-20 mA and RS485/MODBUS RTU over a 6-wire cable.

It is suited to cooling tower water treatment, Legionella monitoring, Clean-in-Place processes, and general food safety and process water monitoring.
