The Dosatron Fertiliser Injector automates the fertiliser mixing process. These are its benefits:
The Conventional, Manual Method
Conventionally, the fertiliser preparation goes like this:
While this method has served farmers well for many years, it comes with many drawbacks. This process requires time and labour (operating expenses) while the result (fertiliser accuracy) is often unreliable (fertiliser wastages or lower yield). Both of these have direct impact on the farmer’s profitability.
Other Automated Solutions
As a result of that, many farmers have begun turning towards automation.
Most of the automation solutions available in the market basically mimics the manual preparation process with the difference that: Workers are replaced by dosing pumps; portable EC meters are replaced by in-line EC sensor; human minds are replaced by irrigation controllers.
Certainly, these solutions are able to reduce reliance on worker, eliminate inaccuracy in the fertiliser solution and reduce human error.
However, the controllers can be complicated and sensitive to operate for workers while the sensors require regular calibration, failing which, the fertiliser accuracy will be negatively affected. Many of these solutions also require the farm to be connected to the internet, which could be an obstacle to many farms located in rural areas.
The Better Solution
The Dosatron Fertiliser Injector on the other hand is a water-powered dosing pump operating on a volumetric proportional principle. What this means is that the fertiliser injector is able to mix the fertiliser accurately without the need for any sophisticated controllers or sensors.
This is how it works: When it is time to fertigate your crop, you simply need to turn on the irrigation pump. As the water travels through the Dosatron Fertiliser Injector, it will automatically operate. The operation of the Dosatron Fertiliser Injector will cause the fertiliser to be injected and mixed with the water. At the outlet of the Dosatron, you will have the fertiliser prepared to the amount required by your crops.
Another major difference to the manual and alternative automated solution is that the Dosatron Fertiliser Injector operates on a continuous preparation method instead of the batch preparation method. The batch preparation method requires that the fertiliser solutions be mixed and then stored in storage tanks before the fertigation session is able to commence. The continuous preparation method mixes the fertiliser during the fertigation session itself, and so requiring zero fertiliser storage tanks. This, of course, has the effect of reducing the required pump house size.
Lastly, as a volumetric proportional injector, the fertiliser concentration produced will never be affected by any fluctuation in flow or pressure of the irrigation water. This is in contrast to the venturi injector whose accuracy is adversely affected by changes in water condition. This means that you can rest assured that your crops will always get the fertiliser they need.
Dosatron Models
The Dosatron Fertiliser Injector comes in many models, the choice of which depends on the setup of your farm. To know which model suits you, we would like to invite you to contact us for a free consultation.
